Features
Page elements
A public docs page is made of elements that you can switch on or off.
Available elements
| Element | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Page title | The large heading above the content. |
| Navigation | The page tree to the left of the content. |
| Search | The search field in the header. |
| On this page | The table of contents to the right of the content. |
| Previous / next | Cards that link to the previous and next page at the end. |
| Copy page | The Page button that copies the page as Markdown. |
| Ask AI | The Ask AI button in the header. See Ask AI. |
Per page
Right-click a page in the page tree and choose Settings. On the Customize tab, switch each element on or off for that page. Changes are saved immediately.
This is useful for landing pages, for example. Hide the table of contents on an overview page, or hide the navigation on a page that should look like a clean article.
Project defaults
You can also set defaults for the whole project in Project settings under Default values of the page elements. For every element, choose one of four modes:
| Mode | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Force Off | The element is hidden on all pages. It cannot be switched on per page. |
| Off | The element starts hidden. You can switch it on per page. |
| On | The element starts visible. You can switch it off per page. This is the default. |
| Force On | The element is shown on all pages. It cannot be switched off per page. |
Use Force modes for things that should look the same everywhere, for example a search field on every page. Use On and Off for starting values that individual pages may override.
Elements that are forced by the project show as locked in the page settings.
